A CINCO AÑOS DE LA DESAPARICIÓN DE SANTIAGO MALDONADO, SU FAMILIA REALIZARÁ UNA MARCHA A PLAZA DE MAYO
A cinco años de la desaparición del joven artesano Santiago Maldonado, su familia realizará una movilización a Plaza de Mayo para denunciar la “impunidad” del caso, al que reclamarán que la Justicia investigue como “desaparición forzada”.
La convocatoria está prevista para las 16:30 en el tradicional espacio verde ubicado frente a la Casa Rosada y contará con un festival artístico con bandas como La Chilinga, Las Manos de Filippi, La Delio Valdez y Malena D Alessio.
Tras la apertura musical, el acto central será encabezado por Sergio Maldonado, hermano del artesano que fue visto por última vez con vida el 1° de agosto de 2017 cuando participaba de una protesta de la comunidad mapuche en la Ruta 40 a la altura del distrito chubutense de Cushamen y que fue reprimida por efectivos de la Gendarmería.
Desde el escenario que se montará en Plaza de Mayo, la familia del joven reclamará el esclarecimiento del caso, al que pretenden que se investigue como “desaparición forzada”.
Además, se prevén duras críticas al Poder Judicial, principalmente a los magistrados que actuaron en el expediente, Guido Otranto y Gustavo Lleral.
También se esperan cuestionamientos a la Corte Suprema, ya que la familia asegura que la causa está “paralizada”.
En mayo pasado trascendió que un testigo había aportado nueva información para respaldar la hipótesis de que el joven artesano fue detenido por los gendarmes: de acuerdo al testimonio, Santiago Maldonado fue trasladado a un puesto ubicado en una estancia del magnate italiano Luciano Benetton, en donde habría sido asesinado.
Días atrás, el juez federal Daniel Rafecas archivó la causa iniciada por Sergio Maldonado, quien había denunciado haber sido objeto de espionaje ilegal por parte de la Gendarmería durante la gestión de Cambiemos y tras la desaparición de su hermano.
“Las pruebas recolectadas durante la pesquisa no revelaron ninguna investigación ni seguimiento, ni observaciones, ni grabaciones de comunicaciones ni intervenciones telefónicas ni de ningún tipo de quienes dieran inicio a esta causa, como así tampoco de personas integrantes de organismos de derechos humanos, ni de familiares de Santiago Andrés Maldonado, ni de miembros de comunidades originarias que participaban de su búsqueda, ni de cualquier otra persona más”, sostuvo el magistrado en su fallo.
Santiago Maldonado había participado el 1º de agosto de 2017 de un corte de la Ruta 40 junto a miembros de una comunidad mapuche y, tras el desalojo realizado por efectivos de la Gendarmería, no se supo nada más de él: su desaparición conmocionó al país y fue uno de los principales temas de debate público.
Tras varios rastrillajes por la zona, el 17 de octubre de ese año su cuerpo fue hallado en las frías aguas del Río Chubut.
La autopsia estableció que Santiago Maldonado falleció por “ahogamiento por sumersión en el agua del río Chubut coadyuvado por hipotermia”, que había permanecido “siempre abajo del agua y no en otro medio” y se descartó la existencia de moretones o traumatismos asociados a una muerte intencional.
La familia y el equipo legal repudió esta resolución y desde el 2018 luchan por la reapertura de la causa y el esclarecimiento de los hechos
