LAS IMPORTACIONES DE ENERGÍA SON LAS MÁS ALTAS EN 30 AÑOS
Las compras de energía, en especial gas licuado, se dispararon al nivel más alto en 30 años, al representar más de US$ 6.600 millones en el primer semestre y dar un golpe demoledor a las reservas del Banco Central.
La suba no se debió solo al impacto de la invasión rusa a Ucrania, sino también a la caída de la oferta local de gas y a un incremento de la demanda doméstica incentivada por el abaratamiento de tarifas en términos reales, comparadas con la inflación.
Las importaciones de energía crecieron 190 por ciento en el primer semestre respecto del mismo período del 2021, de acuerdo con cifras oficiales.
Es la cifra más alta en 30 años, superando incluso los 6413 millones de 2013, informó el portal especializado EconoJournal.
Por el incremento de esas importaciones, la balanza comercial energética aumentó a US$ 2.648 millones, un 654% más que un año atrás.
Es el mayor rojo que registra el sector desde 2014, según cifras oficiales compiladas por la consultora Economía y Energía, dirigida por el especialista Nicolás Arceo.
La disminución de la oferta local de gas natural fue producto de la saturación de la capacidad de transporte en la cuenca neuquina y el declino de las restantes.
También a un incremento de la demanda doméstica incentivada por el abaratamiento de tarifas en términos reales.
La menor disponibilidad de gas, producto entre otros factores del aumento del costo de importación de GNL, derivó en una contracción interanual de 3% en el primer semestre.
Esa caída no es homogénea y se explica casi exclusivamente por un retroceso de 16,6% en el consumo de gas por parte de las usinas.
El consumo de las distribuidoras mostró en el primer semestre una suba de 12,5% frente al año anterior y de 16,9% frente a 2019.
En el caso de la electricidad, el consumo del segmento residencial durante el primer semestre creció 6,4% respecto del año pasado y 18,3% con relación al mismo período de 2019.
Los tres principales productos energéticos de importación (gasoil, GNL y gas natural) representan en promedio el 70% de las compras.
Debido a los precios relativos entre gasoil y GNL se observó una menor importación de este último producto, pero una disparada de las compras de gasoil.
Se espera para este año un nivel de importaciones récord en torno a los US$ 13.500 millones, frente a los 5.843 millones registrados en 2021.
Esto representará todo un desafío para el nuevo ministro de Economía, Sergio Massa, quien busca fortalecer el ingreso de divisas a través de préstamos de bancos y organismos internacionales.
